ECO/PHOTO FEST

ECO/PHOTO FEST 2021:
The Eco/Photo Fest will be a blend of live and virtual programming this year. Beginning on August 28, Eco/Photo Fest will kick off a week of events including a live photography events on August 28th downtown in the RR Park from 10am to 12pm.  The virtual conference will continue through September 12th with speakers that will focus on the connection between photographic instruction and relatable topics in the environment and ecological systems and a photo competition.

Topics that blend ecology with photography will include:

• Habitats Are All Around Us!
• Workshop: Bike Repair/Maintenance and Bike Rodeo
• Photo opportunities hosted in various businesses in Smithville and in the RR Park
• Architectural Photography
• And More!

The format this year will include pre-recorded interviews with each of the panelists as well as an interactive “conference” style program. All will "go live" on August 28, 2021.  We will have an in-person event on August 28, 2021 in downtown Smithville to include lots of activities for photographers and other participants.  Photo ops will include guided train tours, a "Bird Parade" and more. 
 
Of course, the Photo Fest side will host a photography contest, through which participants will submit photos after having learned something through the photography instruction for prizes and recognition throughout the week following the conference. The official end of the program will be 9/12/2021, when the photo contest will end (ends at midnight).
